Psychologist

Background

Rocco is a registered psychologist with experience and training working with adults, adolescents and children. He has experience treating a variety of psychological difficulties; his areas of interest include trauma, life transitions, grief, relationship problems as well as issues related mood and anxiety. Rocco is passionate about LGBTQIA+ mental health, men’s, and adolescent mental health. He has worked in various schools in Victoria performing assessments or providing the advocacy and emotional support that is integral to a young person’s development.

Rocco received supervised training in cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) and interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT). He has also undertaken further training in acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and Schema Therapy, for which he has a keen interest.

 

Rocco is a therapist who sees the importance of focusing on the therapeutic relationship with each person; to collaborate with people in a safe, accepting, and empathic space, and build on or mobilise their strengths to reach their personal goals. He believes strongly in taking an individualised and holistic approach to treatment.

Fees

The cost of a 50-minute session with Rocco is $185, which is payable at the end of the session by cash, EFTPOS or credit card. If referred by a GP along with a Mental Health Care Plan, or by a psychiatrist, you will receive a rebate of $88.25 per session via Medicare. This will be processed at the end of each session. Up to 10 Medicare-rebated sessions can be claimed per calendar year. Alternatively, you may wish to claim the consultation fee under private health cover if this option is available to you.
