Julia (she/her) is a registered clinical and forensic psychologist and National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provider. She is also a Psychology Board Approved Supervisor, able to provide supervision to provisional psychologists, registrars on the clinical and/or forensic pathways, and general psychologists.

Julia is an LGBTQIA+ friendly practitioner and adopts a non-judgemental and person-centred approach to working with clients. She offers assessment and therapeutic intervention services for both clinical and criminal/legal matters and has experience working with various presentations and psychosocial difficulties. These include anxiety and mood disorders, trauma, stress and burnout, relationship problems, criminal or civil legal concerns, and problematic or offending behaviours. Julia has undertaken training and has experience in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, reminiscence therapy, and social skills training.

Julia received her Doctorate in Clinical and Forensic Psychology at Swinburne University of Technology, where her doctoral research focused on women’s perpetration of intimate partner abuse. Julia has undergone practical training in Australia and New Zealand.

What to Expect

Private / Medicare Sessions

Individual Treatment Initial (Assessment) Session (60 minutes) – $235.00

Your first session with Julia will involve an introduction to what you can expect from your sessions, an exploration of the reasons you have sought out psychological treatment, and a discussion of who you are and where you come from.

Individual Treatment Standard Session (50 minutes) – $230.00

Subsequent sessions with Julia will involve developing a collaborative treatment plan and commencing psychological intervention.

Individual Treatment Extended Session (90 minutes) – $390.00

Extended sessions are available to all clients and are particularly beneficial for clients who want or require additional time to facilitate extended EMDR processing. Only one Medicare rebate can be claimed per extended session.

 

NDIS Sessions

NDIS Individual Treatment Standard Session (50 minutes) – Charged as per current NDIS Schedule of Fees ($214.41)

NDIS-funded sessions with Julia will involve developing an assessment of current concerns, collaborative treatment planning, and appropriate psychological intervention.

 

Supervision

Individual Supervision Session (60 minutes) – $235.00

Julia is available for supervision sessions with provisional and registered psychologists seeking professional support and mentoring.

Fees and Rebates

The full session fee is payable at the end of the session by cash, EFTPOS, or credit card. If referred by a G.P. along with a Mental Health Care Plan, or by a psychiatrist, clients receive a rebate of $137.05 per session via Medicare. This will be processed at the end of each session. Alternatively, clients may be able to claim the full or partial consultation fee under private health cover, WorkCover, TAC, or NDIS funding.
