Dr Dave Demmer

Dr. Dave Demmer received his undergraduate degree (with honours) and his Doctorate of Psychology (Clinical) from Deakin University, Australia. Dave has a clinical and research background in men’s mental health and the mental health of the LGBTIQ+, working closely with these populations since the beginning of his career. As well as private practice, Dave has worked clinically within the private hospital sector with both community and acute populations.

Dave is the principle researcher on numerous areas of clinical research in men’s mental health, and developed and facilitated Australia’s first multidisciplinary private outpatient program tailored specifically for men. Dave is also a lecturer at Deakin University, Australia, where he chairs the counselling and coaching units.

Dave’s therapeutic style is collaborative, authentic, and strategy-focused. As well as 1:1 talk therapy, Dave is trained in couples therapy and holds a diploma of clinical hypnosis.

Fees

The cost of a 50-minute consultation with Dave is $195, which is payable at the end of the session by cash, EFTPOS, or credit card. If referred by a G.P. along with a Mental Health Care Plan, or by a psychiatrist, you will receive a rebate of $126.50 per session via Medicare. This will be processed at the end of each session. Up to 10 Medicare-rebated sessions can be claimed per calendar year. Alternatively, you may wish to claim the consultation fee under private health cover, WorkCover, or TAC, if these options are available to you.
